We are more effective when we work collaboratively and seamlessly to support student needs. We are ALL responsible for working together for the success of ALL students. Improving communication and access to common information, establishing effective instructional and support teams, and focusing on wrapping around and strengthening the core relationship of teacher-student-families will improve student success.

We have developed a Framework for Collective Responsibility that will help guide the work we do from creating, implementing and monitoring School Plans for Learner Success, Local Education Agreements with First Nation communities, Individual Education Plans (IEP), and interventions by School-Based Teams (SBT). Common district assessments, with results made available in a timely and user-friendly format, support collaborative learning conversations by teams. Collective responsibility is a theme that emerges across all the other focus areas as we all do our parts toward common goals. Examples of this work include:

  • Focus for the current year on walking together
  • Collective Responsibility Framework
  • New district data warehouse and information management system
  • Strengthened school-based team (SBT) processes
  • More opportunities for cross-school collaboration

Celebrating Attendance and Family

Chilcotin Road Elementary

<p class="editor-paragraph" style="text-align: left;"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">A big thank you to Cariboo‑Chilcotin School District for their support in promoting strong attendance and helping students reach their attendance goals. As a result, Isabelle Chaparro Yonkin earned a $250 gift card from the district for maintaining over 90% attendance year‑to‑date. We also want to extend our appreciation to her family for making attendance a top priority at home. A wonderful team effort all around!</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><img src="/images/54f56462-3720-4c1d-9636-bc73ef262bc2?fingerprint=ppb20260630215708" alt="Celebrating Attendance doug brown" width="576" height="768" style="width:576px;height:768px;display:inline-block"></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><br></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><br></p>

Grateful for People Like Amy Vinje

Chilcotin Road Elementary

<p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Our PAC President, Amy Vinje, demonstrates outstanding care and commitment to our school community. She regularly takes the time to go through the lost and found, carefully sorting items and working to return clothing to the proper students. This thoughtful effort helps ensure that families are reconnected with their belongings and that items don’t go to waste. Amy’s work reflects our shared belief in Collective Responsibility and is just one of the many ways she supports our school.</span></p><table class="editor-table" style="width: 100%; table-layout: fixed;"><colgroup><col style="width: 50%;"><col style="width: 50%;"></colgroup><tbody><tr><th class="editor-tableCell editor-tableCellHeader" style="border: 1px solid black; vertical-align: top; text-align: start; background-color: rgb(242, 243, 245);"><p class="editor-paragraph"><img src="/images/5aa682d8-a56b-4a61-9afe-8db1587350c2?fingerprint=ppb20260525163353" alt="Grateful for People Like Amy Vinje" width="100%" height="inherit" style="width:100%;height:inherit;display:inline-block"></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><br></p></th><th class="editor-tableCell editor-tableCellHeader" style="border: 1px solid black; vertical-align: top; text-align: start; background-color: rgb(242, 243, 245);"><p class="editor-paragraph"><img src="/images/c3a04d85-605c-468a-8171-2805b82494ea?fingerprint=ppb20260525163350" alt="Grateful for People Like Amy Vinje 2" width="100%" height="inherit" style="width:100%;height:inherit;display:inline-block"></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><br></p></th></tr></tbody></table><p class="editor-paragraph"><br></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><br></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><br></p>

Collective Approach to Help Strengthen Classroom Learning

Chilcotin Road Elementary

<p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Using 3D technology and strong teacher–administrator collaboration, we designed and created a class set of looms built to last for years to come. The process blended innovation, creativity, and problem-solving, giving everyone a voice in the design. By working together, we ensured the looms were durable, practical, and perfectly suited for classroom learning. This project is a great example of how collaboration and modern technology can create meaningful, long-lasting resources for students.</span></p><table class="editor-table" style="width: 100%; table-layout: fixed;"><colgroup><col style="width: 100%;"></colgroup><tbody><tr><th class="editor-tableCell editor-tableCellHeader" style="border: 1px solid black; vertical-align: top; text-align: start; background-color: rgb(242, 243, 245);"><p class="editor-paragraph"><img src="/images/a34826a5-4cf7-4d8b-a5dc-6035924086c8?fingerprint=ppb20260506222935" alt="Collective approach to help strengthen classroom learning" width="627" height="470" style="width:627px;height:470px;display:inline-block"></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><br></p></th></tr></tbody></table><p class="editor-paragraph"><br></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><br></p>

Community Supporting Our Kids

Chilcotin Road Elementary

<p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The Starfish Backpack Program plays a vital role in supporting access to food beyond the school day for students who need it. This support allows students to focus on learning, knowing their basic needs are being met. The program is a powerful example of compassion in action, quietly making a meaningful difference in children’s lives. We are so grateful for the incredible group of people in our community who generously give their time, care, and resources to make this possible.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><br></p><table class="editor-table" style="width: 100%; table-layout: fixed;"><colgroup><col style="width: 50%;"><col style="width: 50%;"></colgroup><tbody><tr><th class="editor-tableCell editor-tableCellHeader" style="border: 1px solid black; vertical-align: top; text-align: start; background-color: rgb(242, 243, 245);"><p class="editor-paragraph"><img src="/images/11dcb21f-e3c9-420d-9448-ba0a06197eda?fingerprint=ppb20260506222113" alt="Community Supporting Our Kids" width="100%" height="inherit" style="width:100%;height:inherit;display:inline-block"></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><br></p></th><th class="editor-tableCell editor-tableCellHeader" style="border: 1px solid black; vertical-align: top; text-align: start; background-color: rgb(242, 243, 245);"><p class="editor-paragraph"><img src="/images/95d2bbfa-de19-4644-bf05-83d7104672bb?fingerprint=ppb20260506222110" alt="Community Supporting Our Kids 2" width="100%" height="inherit" style="width:100%;height:inherit;display:inline-block"></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><br></p></th></tr></tbody></table><p class="editor-paragraph"><br></p>
