Exploring Our Community Forest

On the October Pro D Day, staff members spent time, in the afternoon, exploring our Community Forest in search of new opportunities for outdoor learning. Teachers walked the trails, investigated potential learning sites, and brainstormed engaging field trip experiences that connect students with the natural environment. From science and environmental stewardship to storytelling, art, and physical literacy, the forest offers countless opportunities for hands-on, place-based learning. We are excited to expand our use of this incredible community resource and create meaningful outdoor experiences that help students learn, explore, and develop a deeper appreciation for the world around them.
